It was another big year for Highgate Sales in 2025 in the ring and on the track with big results.
The Fasig-Tipton November Sale was a banner one for Highgate when Lake Villa Farm purchased INTRICATE for $2 million. Offered on behalf of Bradley Thoroughbreds Racing Venture, the mare brought the fifth highest price of any in-foal mare at the sale when carrying her first foal by Into Mischief.
The second most expensive mare ever sold by Highgate, INTRICATE came by her price honestly. She was the only female to defeat Horse of the Year Thorpedo Anna at either two or three and stakes placed in four of her six stakes runs those years.
Let’s play it back! Relive our 💎 of November INTRICATE selling at @FasigTiptonCo for $2,000,000. Thank you to @BradleyTBs to entrusting her to us and best of luck to buyer @villa_lake! pic.twitter.com/NuQx76EpGg

Highgate was also the seller of a $275,000 Uncle Mo weanling colt out of Stopshoppingmaria purchased by Preferred Partners 25/26 as the fourth most expensive weanling colt by Uncle Mo in 2025.
On the track, Highgate had its first champion when HE’S NOT JOKING took home Canada’s Champion 2-Year-Old Male award in April after his successes in 2024. That runner was part of our 2023 Keeneland September consignment when sold to Roden Bloodstock for $105,000.
HE’S NOT JOKING isn’t the only successful Highgate runner, with VIXEN doing plenty on the track in 2025 part of our group of standout horses. Sold with Highgate as a short yearling at the Keeneland January sale in 2023 for $57,000, this year, VIXEN won the Herecomesthebride S. (G3) and Sweetest Chant S. to kick off the year. She went on to spend the spring finishing second in the Appalachian S. (G2) and third in both the Edgewood S. (G2) and Tepin S. to place in five of her six 2025 starts, all at the stakes level.
VIXEN ($3.60) was fierce down the lane in the $215,000 Herecomesthebride Stakes (G3) at @GulfstreamPark. @ljlmvel was on board for trainer @markecasse and owners @DJ_Stable & @EclipseTBP.
Another winner for @spendthriftfarm‘s Vekoma!

Highgate’s most successful day on the track came thanks to two stakes winning graduates on May 10 from two different sale years.
The winner of his first two starts, KENTUCKY OUTLAW confirmed his talent when he won the Long Branch S. in his fourth. He’d go on to finish third in the Delaware Derby one start later with three wins and a third in seven 2025 starts. That colt was another weanling sales graduate for Highgate when selling at the 2022 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
A debuting Highgate graduate aimed high for his first start when SANDAL’S SONG kicked off his career in the Royal Palm Juvenile S. at Gulfstream Park.
That race proved to be a big coming out party for the $75,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale graduate. While his winning margin in the race was 1 ½ lengths, it was an even more impressive victory when looking at the overall picture with only the runner up within seven lengths of him at the line. SANDAL’S SONG would go on to hold his own against international horses when a good third in the Norfolk S. (G2) at Royal Ascot.
SANDAL’S SONG ($17.80) made his first start a winning one in the $100,000 Royal Palm Juvenile Stakes at @GulfstreamPark. The Mendelssohn (@CoolmoreAmerica) colt is trained by George Weaver and @LPanici had the ride. The 2YO gets an entry to @Ascot with this victory! pic.twitter.com/x2YeK1uhBR

A third runner joined into the fun as well, with 2023 Keeneland September graduate ALEXANDRA ELAINE finishing third in the Goldfinch S. to round out the day.
While we were selling an exciting group of horses at Keeneland in November, BELIEVABLE showed us the future is very bright in the Tempted S. at Aqueduct.
Sold for $800,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale, she’d shined in her debut with a win in September. Trainer Todd Pletcher had full faith in her ability, entering her in the Tempted S. for her next start. While she didn’t win, she put everyone on notice that she is one to watch next year with a strong late closing kick to finish second.
Highgate started the year strong just a few days after the calendar switched at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. That group of 10 sold was led by a $125,000 Charlatan short yearling filly selling to DR Investments as the fifth most expensive short yearling filly of the first session and ninth most of the whole Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.
Other notable sales results for Highgate this year were a Keeneland September Yearling Sale group led by a $450,000 Constitution filly purchased by MWG-LLC. She led the charge of 27 yearlings sold at Keeneland September by Highgate for an average of $95,723.
At that Keenland November Breeding Stock Sale, Highgate sold 31 horses with the group led by the Larkin Armstrong purchased BELLE’S BLUE BELLE for $300,000 in foal to Practical Joke. The weanling offerings were also well received with the group led by a $240,000 Forte filly purchased by Harcourt Stud.
Highgate is set to start 2026 off strong with nine offered at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. You can find information on all nine here.
